The BCODN Board is a diverse group of passionate professionals dedicated to advancing the practice of Organization Development across British Columbia. Each member brings unique experience and perspective to help foster learning, connection, and meaningful change within our community.

JOE BICKSON

President

Joe is a seasoned management consultant known for mobilizing complex initiatives that deliver strategic value. His work blends hands-on execution with a flexible style to implement new operating models, empower leadership, and drive cultural change for long-term impact. He has collaborated with stakeholders at all levels—from boardrooms to front lines—across sectors like industrial gases, steel, banking, education, and non-profits. With a background in entrepreneurship and sustainability, Joe began his career at InstituteB, later launching a venture focused on municipal waste solutions in Vancouver. He also volunteers with non-profits supporting mental health and addictions, reflecting his commitment to community well-being.

SAVAR KAUR

Secretary

Savar Kaur is passionate about enhancing the employee experience and fostering thriving workplace cultures. With a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and over five years in People & Culture roles, she approaches Organizational Development with creativity and purpose. Savar’s top strengths—restorative thinking, ideation, and a futuristic mindset—shape her solution-focused, forward-looking approach. She sees people as an organization’s greatest asset and strives to implement cultural practices that empower and uplift. As a BCODN Board Member, she is committed to raising awareness of OD’s value and cultivating collaboration and continuous growth within the OD community.


LAURA CHEAH

Treasurer


Laura Cheah is a Training and Development professional passionate about helping people grow and realize their potential. With a background in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, she has consulted and facilitated workshops on organizational development and change. Laura is dedicated to guiding clients through self-awareness and resistance to transformation, helping them align with personal and professional goals. Her work focuses on unlocking individual and team potential and fostering innovation tailored to each business vision. Driven by a strong community spirit, Laura believes in giving back and supporting others on their path to success through thoughtful, people-centered development strategies.


RUTH ANAYA

Dr. E. Ruth Anaya is a university professor teaching in Canada’s largest graduate leadership program. She specializes in global leadership, intercultural communication, and management in multicultural and international contexts. Her work spans business, education, and healthcare, applying organizational principles to diverse professional settings. Ruth is also a researcher, author, and practitioner in international community development. She holds GLOBE research qualifications, supporting her in identifying culturally effective leadership and business strategies across countries. Her commitment to effective cultural and organizational leadership and organizational change prompts her offer her expertise to local and international organizations, businesses, and non-profits.


KARLA CARRENO

Member at Large


Karla Carreño is passionate about transforming how we engage in organizations. With a Master of Science in Engineering and a background in project management and cultural transformation, she thrives at the intersection of new technologies and organizational change. Karla’s journey into organizational development is driven by a deep passion for learning and a commitment to helping others grow. Though not always working in core OD roles, she sees its principles as essential across all functions. Nearly a decade of volunteer work, including three years on a nonprofit board, has shaped her collaborative, human-centered approach. She lives in Vancouver with her Westie, Leon.


VALERIA LEVCHENKOVA

Valeria Levchenkova is Strategic Advisor and Programming & Events Lead at the British Columbia Organizational Development Network. With over 10 years of experience, she specializes in leadership development, talent strategy, and organizational design across sectors. She founded Passion To Lead in Mexico City, designing programs for global firms like PwC and Saint-Gobain with a focus on female leadership and high-performing teams. Her work blends systems thinking and strategic design to align people and processes. As an OD Manager and Design Consultant, she’s supported senior leadership and organizational change. Valeria champions accountable, human-centered workplaces driven by clarity and connection.

CAMERON STOCKDALE

Member at Large


Dr. Cameron Stockdale is an executive and researcher specializing in organizational behaviour, leadership, workplace health, and public policy. He holds a Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership (Creighton), an Master of Laws in Innovation and Technology (Edinburgh), a Master of Arts in Leadership (Guelph), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Organizational Behaviour (Harvard Extension). With 25 years of frontline and leadership experience as a paramedic, he has since held senior roles across healthcare, non-profit, and academic sectors. He currently serves as Chair of the International Leadership Association’s Healthcare Community, Vice-Chair of the Executive Health and Safety Council of BC, and Senior Affiliate Professor at City University of Seattle.
