The BCODN Board is a diverse group of passionate professionals dedicated to advancing the practice of Organization Development across British Columbia. Each member brings unique experience and perspective to help foster learning, connection, and meaningful change within our community.

Board Members


JOE BICKSON

President

Joe is a seasoned management consultant known for mobilizing complex initiatives that deliver strategic value. His work blends hands-on execution with a flexible style to implement new operating models, empower leadership, and drive cultural change for long-term impact. He has collaborated with stakeholders at all levels—from boardrooms to front lines—across sectors like industrial gases, steel, banking, education, and non-profits. With a background in entrepreneurship and sustainability, Joe began his career at InstituteB, later launching a venture focused on municipal waste solutions in Vancouver. He also volunteers with non-profits supporting mental health and addictions, reflecting his commitment to community well-being.

SAVAR KAUR

Secretary

Savar Kaur is passionate about enhancing the employee experience and fostering thriving workplace cultures. With a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and over five years in People & Culture roles, she approaches Organizational Development with creativity and purpose. Savar’s top strengths—restorative thinking, ideation, and a futuristic mindset—shape her solution-focused, forward-looking approach. She sees people as an organization’s greatest asset and strives to implement cultural practices that empower and uplift. As a BCODN Board Member, she is committed to raising awareness of OD’s value and cultivating collaboration and continuous growth within the OD community.


LAURA CHEAH

Treasurer


Laura Cheah is a Training and Development professional passionate about helping people grow and realize their potential. With a background in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, she has consulted and facilitated workshops on organizational development and change. Laura is dedicated to guiding clients through self-awareness and resistance to transformation, helping them align with personal and professional goals. Her work focuses on unlocking individual and team potential and fostering innovation tailored to each business vision. Driven by a strong community spirit, Laura believes in giving back and supporting others on their path to success through thoughtful, people-centered development strategies.


RUTH ANAYA

Member at Large


Dr. E. Ruth Anaya is a university professor teaching in Canada’s largest graduate leadership program. She specializes in global leadership, intercultural communication, and management in multicultural and international contexts. Her work spans business, education, and healthcare, applying organizational principles to diverse professional settings. Ruth is also a researcher, author, and practitioner in international community development. She holds GLOBE research qualifications, supporting her in identifying culturally effective leadership and business strategies across countries. Her commitment to effective cultural and organizational leadership and organizational change prompts her offer her expertise to local and international organizations, businesses, and non-profits.


Peter Choi

Director of Membership Engagement


An experienced HR and organizational development leader with more than 25 years of experience supporting organizations through culture change, leadership development, and strategic transformation. His work spans healthcare, municipal government, education, and private sector organizations.

Peter has led numerous large-scale initiatives including HRIS and digital transformation projects.

As Director of Member Engagement for BCODN, Peter is focused on strengthening relationships across the network, helping members connect, share knowledge, and create new opportunities for collaboration within the OD and change community across British Columbia.
