Job Description Summary

As STEMCELL’s Director, Talent Management & Organizational Development you will lead a new global centre of excellence and conceptualize, implement and manage the overall design and implementation of talent management, executive coaching, organizational development and performance management programs. In this ‘green field’ role, you will develop a strategic plan for talent management, establish and lead the planning, budgeting and ensure overall achievement of annual goals. You will develop strong relationships across STEMCELL to align our talent management strategy with business needs and goals while ensuring global consistency.

Job Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads the execution, communication and ongoing development of performance management programs to ensure alignment with corporate strategy
  • Creates and implements easy to use processes and tools for talent management and succession planning across the company
  • Sets annual talent management goals and 2-3 year strategic vision for the department
  • Leads the enterprise wide calibration and talent review process including assessments, discussions with leaders and development conversations for People Leadership job streams
  • Manages STEMCELL’s annual Employee Engagement survey program and associated activities
  • Provides the tools and support for critical roles identification, high performers, talent readiness and accelerated development plans for successors of critical roles
  • Oversees the development and execution of targeted leadership development programs and strategies for high potential leaders and succession candidates, and uses relevant metrics to assess outcomes
  • Leads STEMCELL’s internal coaching practice
  • Lead, manage, coach, develop and evaluate direct reports through regular one-on-one and team meetings; set team goals, conduct performance reviews; make compensation recommendations for direct reports

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in leadership, coaching and/or organizational development or other relevant combination of HR education, certification and/or relevant experience in various HR disciplines
  • 10+ years of extensive, related and progressive talent management experience leading teams implementing programs in a corporate environment, ideally in a life sciences environment
  • Certified coaching designation would be an asset
