Upcoming Event – Responding to the Climate Crisis with Dialogic OD
April 21, 2022 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
$5 – $20.00Event Description
As the impacts and threats of the climate crisis become more apparent every year the conversation on what is causing it and how we can take action is becoming increasingly mainstream. Yet the scale of the conversation still does not match the scale of the threat. This session will explore how the principles of dialogic OD can drive a new way of engaging with and responding to the climate crisis.
Please join this session if you are curious about climate change and how we can respond to it. You don’t need to have an understanding of climate science or politics to participate. Our session will be participative and you will be asked to share your experience with others in small groups.
Objectives:
- Apply a familiar OD framework to climate crisis response
- Create space for OD practitioners to reflect on and share their experiences related to the climate crisis
- Spark conversation and inspiration about how our field can support climate resilience and adaptation
Outcomes:
- Overview of principles of dialogic OD
- An approach and structure for meaningful group conversation on climate change
- An experience discussing their own relationship to the climate crisis
Facilitator Bio
Hannah Elise Jones, MSOD
I believe that when our organizations are at their best, they create environments that foster individual leadership and growth. I am passionate about developing mindful, responsible, organizations and the individuals that lead and support them. In recent years I have expanded my interest in organizations as social actors and the role they play in the course of our collective future.
I currently work as a Senior Manager of Organization Development at Uber Technologies, where I am focused on global culture change work. Prior to joining Uber, I worked as a consultant, both independently and for small firms, focusing on culture change, leadership development, org design and sociotechnical systems. I received my Masters in Organization Development at Pepperdine University, and my Undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at UC Berkeley. I live, work and play on the ancestral lands of the Oholone, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
