Congratulations! Your name has been chosen for the free ticket to The Art of Leadership on Sept 16th — a $499 value!  This lovely surprise email landed in my email inbox just a day or so before the event, and I was delighted.  Armed with my recently download ticket, I made my way to the conversion center at the ungodly hour of 7am to be in time for the 8am opening of the doors.  Once in the building we were lined up in roped off lanes, presumably until those with the more expensive tickets had gotten in.

Once again, BCODN partnered with the Art of Leadership people to benefit the BCODN community. Everyone in our community was eligible for a discount, but 3 lucky people had their names drawn to attend at no charge!

Congratuations to:

Bethan Theunissen

Namir Faraj, and

Laura Villacrusis

Watch for an article that highlights the learning from the all-day session.

At our June AGM, new and returning Board Members were voted in to lead BCODN into another great year. We were delighted to have Kathy Andrews join the Board in the co-chair role of Professional Development & Events! Katherine Marlow has moved from doing double-duty as Treasurer and PD co-chair, to exclusively Treasurer.

Here is the list of Board Members for 2016/2017

Were you there on the 23rd? If so, it was GREAT so see you! If you weren't there, you missed a room with great people, new board members, and terrific speakers.

Adam Kay's session on Mindfulness was filled with helpful clarification, research, and beneficial information. His knowoeldge and capacity for remembering authors and study dates were astounding. People were surely present while listening to what he had to say.

BCODN's first Pub Night was at Steamworks. It was great! People from the Board greeted everyone who came in and in no time, the conversation and laughter were bubbling! There was a terrific "formal" networking period (thank you Laura Villacrusis!) and it make it so easy to get to the heart of people and their work! Sitting at a long table of about 20 people, we laughed, networked, and shared projects and business needs or projects that we were working on.

Your Invitation to Leadership:The BCODN is looking for a few new board members for the 2016/2017 year.

I am proud to be able to tell you that you have a wonderful Board of Directors at BCODN. They are a group of dedicated, smart, capable, and frankly, enjoyable people. We have carried on the new format of having two people for some positions and have found it to work very well.
